Kokomo Cannon

Perhaps the largest project, in terms of financial and political scope, the Somers Camp has ever undertaken was the restoration of the “Kokomo Cannon”. The gun tube lay on a garage floor with no carriage. We raised the money for the carriage through various efforts. These efforts were spearheaded by members Tom Crawford, PDC, and Alan Teller, PDC. There was a large learning curve and political wall to scale. This is a picture of the cannon after restoration. It is our intention to have more pictures and stories about this cannon in the future.

Order from the War Department regarding the Kokomo Cannon

Those interested in help clean and preserve the cannon will need to let the Camp Commander know.
